On Thursday 5th March, King’s Ford Academy was delighted to host the latest Multi-Schools Council Meeting, welcoming pupils and staff from four other schools for an inspiring morning of collaboration, discussion, and pupil voice.

During the Share Zone, our young representatives took part in thoughtful conversations around several key topics that matter to children in all schools. Together, we explored:

• Leaving School – What would you like to know before moving on?
  Pupils shared their hopes, worries, and questions about transitioning to their next school, highlighting the importance of feeling prepared and supported.
• Belonging – What does belonging mean to you, and what helps you feel it?
  Children spoke honestly about friendships, inclusion, kindness, and how small acts can make a big difference to creating a sense of community.
• Homework – What are your thoughts?
  Opinions ranged from enjoying the challenge to wanting a better balance. The discussion encouraged everyone to think about how homework can help learning while still being manageable.
• Mental Health vs Physical Health – How can we combine the two?
  Pupils come up with brilliant ideas on how staying active supports wellbeing, and how schools can continue to blend physical activity with positive mental health strategies.

We are incredibly proud to share that King’s Ford Academy has been recognised for having outstanding ambassadors. Even more exciting, we have been nominated for four ambassadors to represent the Multi-Schools Council—a wonderful achievement that reflects the passion, maturity, and leadership of our pupils.

A huge thank you to all the schools who joined us and to the pupils whose voices, ideas, and enthusiasm made the meeting such a success. We look forward to the next gathering and to continuing our work together to make schools even better places for everyone.

On Thursday 19th March, the King’s Ford Academy choir took to the stage at Charter Hall alongside more than 15 other local schools for a truly memorable celebration of music. After spending the entire day rehearsing together, the children returned in the evening full of excitement and ready to perform to an audience of proud families.

Our choir delivered a standout solo performance of “Eye of the Tiger”, showcasing not only their vocal talent but also their confidence, teamwork, and incredible determination. Their energy lit up the hall, and their hard work throughout the day truly paid off.

It was an amazing effort from every single member of the choir. Events like this remind us all that singing makes you feel alive, connected, and full of joy. We are so proud of our pupils for representing King’s Ford Academy with such enthusiasm and spirit.

It's been a busy term at King's Ford! This time it was the turn of our year 5 football team, who took on Ardleigh Primary School recently. The team played out a hard-fought 2-2 draw.                                                                            Hopefully another match, or even re-match, will be on the horizon soon! Well played team!

The children enjoyed asking Peter and David a range of questions—about reading, their time at King’s Ford, their favourite books and even which football teams they support!

It was a lovely and productive afternoon, giving us the chance to gather valuable feedback from both Peter and David, as well as the children. This will help us continue to improve and ensure our Rotary Reading sessions run as smoothly as possible for everyone.

Tickets will go on sale this week at £3, for our school disco. All children will need to purchase a ticket if they wish to attend. We will assume all children will be collected by an adult unless we are informed otherwise at the school office. 

Children will not need to bring a change of clothes as it will also be a non-uniform day. There will be a tuck shop for the children to buy drinks and treats, so please ensure they bring their money with them to school. 

No tickets can be purchased after Sunday 22nd March. 

This year, we are aiming to raise £100 to support children’s mental health charities. If your child would like to take part, we kindly invite them to bring a small sponsorship donation. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps us move closer to our goal and supports vital services for young people. Once we have reached our target, the school will agree on a date for the event, and each class will have the exciting job of deciding their teacher’s fashion fate.

The back of the hooded sweatshirt will be printed with a large number 26 with all the names of the Year 6 pupils inside the digits and a name of your choice can be printed down the arm.
