What are Year 6 up to?
📚 English
We’ve been reading The Unforgotten Coat by Frank Cottrell-Boyce, a moving story that has sparked thoughtful discussions. Inspired by the book’s main character, who is from Mongolia, the children have been researching and writing non-chronological reports about Mongolia, developing their skills in informative writing and cultural understanding.
âž— Maths
To ensure all our knowledge stays sharp, we’ve been revising key mathematical concepts. This has helped reinforce our understanding and prepare us for the transition to secondary school.
🔬 Science
In science, we’ve been exploring the fascinating topic of light—learning how it travels, how shadows are formed, and how we see things. The children have enjoyed hands-on investigations and discussions about how light affects our daily lives.
We’re proud of the enthusiasm and effort Year 6 have shown across all subjects!
