At King's Ford Academy, we use Norfolk Sacre Primary’s Religon and worldviews scheme of work, which enables pupils to meet the government guidance, which states that RE must reflect that ‘the religious traditions in Great Britain are, in the main, Christian while taking account of the teaching and practices of the other principal religions represented in Great Britain’. Our scheme has been designed to fulfill the aims of A Curriculum framework for Religious Education in England.
Intent
At King’s Ford Academy, our Religion and World Views curriculum, written in line with the Norfolk SACRE agreed syllabus, aims to develop pupils’ knowledge, understanding and respect for a range of religions, beliefs and non-religious world views. The curriculum is designed to support pupils in exploring big questions about meaning, purpose and identity, while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking and reflective dialogue. Through a carefully sequenced programme of study, pupils build substantive knowledge of key religious concepts, practices and traditions, alongside the ability to compare, interpret and evaluate different viewpoints. Our curriculum promotes mutual respect, tolerance and understanding, preparing pupils to live as thoughtful, informed and compassionate members of a diverse society, while supporting their personal, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
