Why Join Us?
Welcome to our 'Why Join Us' page. We are excited that you have expressed interest in our wonderful community junior school.
We recognise that developing the ‘whole child’ is an integral part of our work. We want our pupils to achieve both fantastic outcomes and develop their interpersonal skills so that they are confidently prepared for life beyond school. At the heart of this ethos, we promote our core values. These are considered to be the most desired outcomes for which employers seek and at King’s Ford Academy, we have the highest aspirations for all our children.
We have a set of five school Values that are at the heart of all we do, our learning, our behaviour and our community:
Leadership - Initiative
Resilience
Community - Organisation
What we can offer your child...
- We are passionate about uncovering the unique strengths and talents of our young people whilst developing them into well rounded and resilient characters.
- Our carefully developed and engaging Curriculum develops pupils’ skills and deepens knowledge and understanding across a range of subjects.
- Our ethos and values are at the heart of everything we do; they instil in our pupils the attitudes and beliefs required to be successful now and in the future.
- We have a supportive and dedicated team of teaching and support staff who are passionate about ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential.
- We encourage pupils to assume roles of responsibility through our teams of library monitors, eco-councillors, school council, and sports leaders, which develop their leadership skills.
- Our partnerships with a range of external organisations, such as Multi Schools Council, provides exciting opportunities and allows for personal development for pupils, parents and staff.
- From the moment pupils are offered a place to the moment they leave us, we support their transition at key stages in their education, through a transition programme, continuous monitoring and partnerships with the infant school and key secondary schools.
- We work hard to have good partnerships with our parents and community to give our children the best opportunities in their academic career.
- We have our own Family Liaison Officer in school (Mrs Cotter) who works passionately and actively to promote the needs and welfare of our children.
- We are fortunate to have a school based SENCO (Mrs Harris) to support the needs of our vulnerable and SEND children and who will also lead in delivering quality learning sessions.
- We have a huge outdoor playground/field with a fantastic gardening area. The playground has new markings, a gym area and a trim trail. It also hosts a charming Nurture Hut, which is open daily and run by our SEND LSA (Miss Baxter). We also have a well resourced Sensory Hut.
- A dedicated Sports Coach to enhance the sports curriculum.
- Our own Speech and Language Therapist who comes in and works 1-1 with targeted children.
- Pupil voice - we are passionate and dedicated in giving our pupils a voice.
- We offer a range of extra curricular after school clubs including Military, Lego, dodgeball, board games, tuition and many others.
King's Ford Academy is part of the Inspires MAT. This gives our staff fantastic opportunities for collaboration where they can work together to improve, share ideas and get advice from other schools. It also offers a great support network from other schools and the trust's central resources.
