History

“Study the past if you would divine the future.” – Confucius

At King’s Ford Academy, our history curriculum is shaped to provide children with an understanding of the story of our world; how we went from using basic stone tools to walking on the moon. Our history curriculum aims to give children a chronological understanding of both British and world history taught through a range of exciting topics across the Key Stage. Our history curriculum follows the National Curriculum and is structured as a clear progression of skills, knowledge and vocabulary, ensuring pupils build securely on prior learning across key areas such as enquiry, interpretation and communication. It is heavily integrated with other subjects such as art and geography, helping our children to make deep links across their learning.
